Climate Change is a shared responsibility

Our planet Earth is very unique. As we know it, it is the only one in the Solar System with both an atmosphere and oceans containing water. It is these two important elements that provide the ideal conditions for life to evolve.

Heat and moisture are carried not just through the ocean currents but also in the atmosphere providing the opportunity for life to be in existence in most parts of our planet.

The weather is created by these currents.

The weather always changing and can be predicted- to an extent.

Weather patterns in particular areas are known as the climate.

It is these climates that very slowly over time are changing. Life is also very slowly being forced to adapt.

In around 1900 the world’s global temperatures started to rise. This rise has become more rapid since the 1970s, matching the growth of modern industries, development of larger cities and our ever increasing need for fuels such oil and coal to provided us with energy for power, transport and heat.

Climate change now has an accelerator.
